I first bought these diapers for my daughter when she got her first bad diaper rash at about a month old. It was one of those rashes that looked as though her skin had been set on fire and nothing seemed to be helping it. I had tried everything and thought maybe these chlorine free diapers and wipes will do something for her. To my amazement, her diaper rash went away within a day and a half of using the diapers and wipes from Seventh Generation. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself! I think that really speakes volumes about the danger of whatever chemicals being are put into the other diaper brands. These are now the ONLY brand of diapers I will buy for my kids.

It’s now been 2 yrs. since I first wrote this review and I just want to add that with our new daughter we started with newborn diapers and those worked well for her, as did the size 1 diapers, however the size 1 diapers were a tad smaller than mainstream size 1 diapers so she only wore them for a little less than a month. I do not recommend putting the newborn or size 1 diapers on Ship & Save unless you have twins or a really tiny baby. My daughter is 3 mos. old, weighs about 11lbs and is now in the size 2 diapers. I am hoping that she’ll be able to use the size 2 diapers for at least three months. My baby also has severely sensitive skin (including eczema) and these diapers are still great with keeping diaper rash, and the eczema at bay.

Also for what it is worth, with our older daughter we ended up switching not long after I wrote the original review to Kirkland’s size 5 or Huggies Supreme size 5 and had great results and the diapers fit better than the size 5 Seventh Generation diapers and my daughter had no diaper rash issues with those either.

Original Review, July, 2008

We have been using Seventh Generation Diapers (started w/ size 4, and now in size 5) since my daughter was 16 mos old (she’s now 27 mos old), and these have been the best diapers for her sensitive, and diaper rash prone skin. I love the feel of these diapers and they hold a lot. We switched from Pampers Cruisers to these diapers and have never looked back.

I am not happy about the new reformulated diapers, and that they made the package have 8 less diapers, and the gel material seems to be a little more slippery than it was before. Since we hopefully have less than six mos. left of diapers I don’t plan on going diaper hunting again, but messing with something that isn’t necessarily broken really irritates me.

These diapers have worked really well for us with our newborn. They fit her well and are very absorbent. Plus, they are better for the environment so that is a big bonus.
