Brothers Michael, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito & Marlon performing 11 classic Christmas anthems, including ‘Frosty The Snowman’, ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ and ‘The Little Drummer Boy’. 1997 Spectrum reissue of 1970 Motown release.Christmastime is a time when families get together and sing a few old favorites to raise some seasonal cheer. That’s exactly the spirit you’ll hear on the Jackson family’s holiday gathering–albeit with a few more eye-popping performances than in most home get-togethers. Michael, Jermaine, Tito, and their sibs flash energy and enthusiasm aplenty on old-time faves such as “Up on the Housetop” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” And even when they take things down a notch for ballads like “Christmas Won’t Be the

Originally released October 15, 1970 this cd still sounds fresh and alive. The brothers’ bantering (though forced and stiff) before a few of the songs and playfullness throughout give a sense of family and togetherness that I love. Sure they aren’t always in top singing form, but I forgive them ’cause I love them so much. Also the high energy and delight they have singing songs like “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Calus” and “santa Claus is Coming to Town” is infectious and washes away any blemishes. “Give Love on Christmas Day” is perhaps one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs as it perfectly sums up the what the holiday is all about – love. For true J5 (or Michael) fans or those who want a fun, energitic family themed Christmas cd, you can’t go wrong with the Jackson 5 Christmas Album.

My older brother purchased this album in 1970 and I have not listened to it in 25 years. When I saw that amazon.com carried the CD, I jumped on it. This is a great album for children of the 1960′s and for children of the 1990′s. If your a Jackson 5 fan and you love Christmas, this is a must for your collection.

This is one of the best Christmas albums I know. It’s interesting that the boys were able to put so much into the songs and they were Jehovah’s Witnesses at the time (most of them still are). Their version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is truly enjoyable. “Give Love On Christmas Day” never has and never will sound more perfect than it does on this album with Michael’s mature voice providing the lead. Of course, no one can forget the most popular cut on the album, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Michael’s high and shrill voice makes it the most distinctive version of this song ever. For those that love Christmas music, the Jackson 5, or both, you MUST have this album. It will truly make your holiday a lot more special.

All of the brothers were talented, but Michael was definitely the superstar! If the song, Give love on Christmas Day, doesn’t impress you, you know nothing about music! He was only about 10 years old! Have you ever heard another 10-year-old with such an incredible voice? Hell no! This whole album is great, the price is such a bargain too!
