I bought these balls to practice for a dodgeball tournament. The tournament uses 8 1/4 inch balls and these were the closest in size I could find, at 8 inches. They are the foam filled balls with a rubbery, plastic coating. I can tell the coating is air tight because when you squish it, the only air comes from the small air hole. My girlfriend and I threw one around in the wet grass last night, and it bounced off things like my trailer, and still held strong. After playing, the coating seemed to be water proof and just needed to be dried off. There was a drop or two of water from the air hole. I got hit in the face and it didn’t hurt, so these will be good for young children. Overall, I like the colors and they are great to play with. Can’t wait to try them out with the team tonight!
